Graduate Hotel Guests Are No Longer Sleepless in Seattle

Graduate Hotel FR-One Seattle

Graduations around the globe have been cancelled due to the pandemic. Graduate Hotel in Seattle however, is here to stay!  Most tourists in Seattle flock downtown to visit iconic landmarks like the Space Needle, Pike Place Market and the waterfront. A 15-minute drive away, Graduate Hotel isn’t too far either. Yet, as its name suggests, Graduate Hotel caters particularly to the crowd visiting the University of Washington as it is located within walking distance from the campus. One of the few independent boutique hotels in that area, Graduate Hotel offers a unique ambience that sets it apart from more typical choices. Set in a building constructed in 1931 with an exterior reminiscent of the lower half of the Empire State Building, the hotel’s interior is a nod to its Art Deco roots. Also known as style moderne, distinguishing features of Art Deco movement are simple geometric shapes with a streamlined look often made with a combination of expensive natural materials and man-made materials including semi-precious stones. In essence, the art period borders on ostentatious opulence.

In true style moderne fashion, guests are welcomed at the lobby by lush velour curtains from the FR-One Marsano collection. A deep shade of Tiramisu, the velveteen drapes reflect the spotlight beamed on it, offering it a subtle sheen. The lobby is inspired by a mid-century twist on the classic Art Deco style with long, rectangular sofas, Danish loungers with gray cushions, molded Eames chairs, a mahogany bookcase and geometric floor tiles. Of course, no Art Deco interior is complete without a roaring fireplace and Graduate Hotel does not disappoint. Still, with a fireplace and wooden furniture, Graduate Hotel is highly conscientious of guest safety. FR-One’s fabrics serve not only as artistic centrepieces but are extremely fire-retardant, insulating any potential flames. Navy-approved fabrics keep guests in Graduate Hotel safe in this vintage building. Find out what FR-One fabrics can do your space here : FR-One
