Gastronomika Bru Lithuania

Fine dining has oft been associated with French cuisine; yet, award-winning chef Liutauras Čeprackas aims to place Lithuania on the gastronomic map with his aptly named, newly renovated restaurant Gastronomika. Gastronomika is by no means an unfamiliar inception in the Lithuanian restaurateur circle, having received a commendable second-place in a 2017 list of Lithuania’s 30 Best Restaurants. The recently refurbished Gastronomika opened its stylish glass doors to the public on the eve of the 30th-anniversary of Lithuania’s independence. With consideration for other diners, Gastronomika keeps their clientele exclusive with a strict no kids and no pets policy. It boasts a spacious open-plan dining hall which accommodates up to 50 guests as well as an intimate, private dining area in a cosy antique brick vault which seats between 14 to 18 people.
Čeprackas proudly admits that the menu has been specially targeted towards introducing tourists to the flavours that are truly representative of Lithuanian gastronomy. With a selection that spans across two tasting menus and an à la carte one, the restaurant’s dainty dishes and desserts do not only tingle diners’ taste buds but also excite the eyes. Gastronomika therefore seeks to not simply appeal to the palate but to the other senses as well – a true dining experience.
In keeping with the sophisticated ambience of Gastronomika and its avant-garde menu thoughtfully crafted by Čeprackas himself, the interior designers have strategically decided to employ a variety of luxurious textures for the restaurant’s upholstery. Using three of the textile collections from Bru (Twice, Intense and Determination) that include suede, chenille and velvet respectively, these fabric pairings are unique and almost eccentric when combined, yet suitably elegant that it creates a modern Michelin-like atmosphere. So, as you sink into the plush seats while enjoying the tannins of full-bodied wine expertly recommended by the restaurant’s in-house sommelier, prepare to be thoroughly impressed by this dining experience – down to the very last detail.
